Great seller. Fast and friendly. Very good price as well. I am very well pleased.
Even with a direct ethernet connection the backup sucked. Very slow, unpredictable, dangerously hot. And it is a sub-par base station that did not enhance my existing wireless network in the slightest. No, I'm not talking about my ex-girlfriend, I'm talking about the waste of money time capsule I bought that worked for a while then stopped, then worked then didn't then worked then didn't. Wireless backup sounded awesome, I just didn't realize I would be long dead before such a backup could ever complete. However if you want to fry eggs it might work because it gets incredibly hot for something that just sits there and does jack squat.Amazing disappointment. DO NOT BUY.
Do yourself a favor and read the Apple support forums before you buy this failed product. While it may work for a little while, MANY of us who bought this product are stuck in with constant backup errors and no way to recover. It's shameful that Apple is still selling this product as there are serious flaws. I my case it worked fine for about 3 months, now there is no way to get a backup to go past 50% and Apple support is completely ignoring the customer complaints on their web site.
Great product, but latest firmware had a bug and took me a while to figure out why my mac book pro did not connect at 11n 5GHz. I needed to downgrade to previous firmware works fine now.
With little effort and minimal setup- it was set up in minutes. After purchasing my first iMac- after more than 15 years an five pc's- I realized just why Apple has the reputation it does- it's products do work better, easier, faster. I had a top of the line router, but wanted backup and more- so I bought the time machine- and It does everything that it is supposed to do- seamlessly and effortlessly. I am certainly no computer expert- that is why I rate it so highly- I DID NOT HVE TO BE. Plug in and there it is- a great wireless network- data backup and storage all in an excellent looking device.
